Once a week Alii Nui visits a secluded coral reef, abound with colorful reef fish, called Turtle Point. This area has the second longest continuous reef on Maui and has a population of Hawaiian Honu (green sea turtles). Watch these protected creatures, from a safe distance, as they rest on the bottom or they glide gently over the colorful beds of coral.
All snorkeling equipment is provided complimentary including optical masks and wet suits. Instruction is given to individual needs and level of experience. Increasing the quality of our charter, we have premium silicon masks, US Divers® dry snorkels and Velox™ vented fins. Also included as regular amenities are boogie boards, water noodles, wet suit tops, optical masks and large terry beach towels. Once you have had your fill of snorkeling, enjoy a refreshing "rinse-off" shower with one of four heated fresh-water shower.
Our constant attention to detail and commitment to quality really set us apart from the rest. Once again we've thought of everything so you don't have to!
Between the end of December and the end of April this trip affords a great opportunity to see Humpback whales in the National Marine Sanctuary. About Turtle Point:
Turtle Point is one of Maui's largest coral reef systems nestled in the protected bays at the base of the West Maui Mountains. The caverns and ledges in the coral and lava, as well as the lava fingers nearing the surface create the perfect habitat for sponges, corals, octopus, fish, eels, and shrimp. The highlight of this reef is the number of Green Sea Turtles that gather here to be "cleaned" by fish known as the Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse. The Green Sea Turtles are an endangered species and must not be touched or harassed. They are very curious animals and often allow snorkelers a good look from just a few feet away.INTRODUCTORY SCUBA DIVING
